THE EAGLE EATING THE CHICK ALIVE
Two days ago when I was in front of our grocery ( along the hi- way) there was an accident between a motor cycle and an old man while crossing the road.Luckily the vehicle was not so fast that's why the old man was not really hurt but just the same he was bumped by that vehicle and an old man like about 60 and above years old bones are so delicate at this stages.
Traffic officer was there because it is a national road and there post was just in front of my mother store.Because of that incident a lot of bystander was there. To my surprise the officer just check happened and when he saw that the old man was not suffering bleeding of blood that time he went back right away to his post and sit like as if nothing happened.I was really mad I was about to go out and try to do something but my mom told me let the officer fix their own problem. So I just watched like the others do. But I never stop looking at the police man who was just there and watched the driver and the old man arguing each other. Driver talks so loud and keep shouting the old man that it's his fault. The old man can't talked or help himself that time because of shocked or maybe he can't talk because he was alone. The driver gave the old man 50 pesos and went away.I looked at the policeman again and saw he was at the other store chatting with someone. I can't stop myself anymore and watched the "EAGLE EAT THE CHICK ALIVE". I said to my mom I can't stand it anymore without any hesitation I went to the scene right away and do what I learned in Red Cross in terms of accident after that I get a chair and told the old man to sit for awhile and called a friend of mine who was in hospital. I was really mad and nervous at that time. I called the police who was at the other side of the road and told him "Sir with due respect I don't want to bypass your authority but as a concern citizen I have to do this. And as you can see the driver left already and the old man was alone . Your the officer in-charges here you should know your responsibilities. And the accident happened in front of your post"....
You know what really makes me more mad? When the officer answered me "Miss the driver told me that it's the old man's fault". I tried to inhale deeply to control my temper and to remind myself that he was still an officer of the government that I should respect not because he was in uniform but he is older than me.Still I really can't control my anger towards the policeman. I asked him again sir did you get the plate number of the vehicle? To my surprise he answered me with a big NO. Ah big mistakes he really makes me mad and I can't control anymore . I told him that SIR DON"T YOU KNOW THAT YOU ARE LIABLE ALSO NOW TO THIS OLD MAN? He can file a case against you. Don't you know that?As an officer you should be here in front of the area where the accident happened not just like the others do who was just watching and waiting what will happened next. Regardless of who's fault either the driver or the old man.I can't stop anymore even my mom was beside me and holding my arms so tight and I know she wants me to stop. But I don't want to look at her coz I know when I see her eyes my anger will mellow down.hehehehe. And the audience who was there as if they are watching a film making and they were now also talking that the policeman did wrong.
Right at that moment when he hear the words "FILE A CASE AGAINST HIM" he was so attentive to the old man.
Friends sometimes we should not be afraid to voice out what we think is right. And if the others can't do for themselves them try to stand for them. My intentions was not on purpose. I did that without any hesitations in away that I never disrespect the man in uniform.
I know what I did is just a small thing but again looking at my moms eyes telling me that THIS IS MY DAUGHTER am so proud of you ......that's a big accomplishment for me because I made my mom smile....
